The casino of Campione was founded in 1917 and opened in 1933: it was then restored by architect Mario Botta and reopened in 2007. This casino is owned by the Italian Government and it is located in Campione d'Italia, in the province of Como, a little town which is an Italian exclave in the swiss territory of Canton Ticino, by Lake of Lugano.

The casino of Sanremo was inaugurated on the 12th January 1905, at the time of mayor Augusto Mombello, with the name of Kiurzaal. For the first two years was managed by the parisian architect Eugene Ferret: it was a theater where were organized parties, receptions, shows, concerts and unofficial gambling.
